The Synology RackStation RS217 2-Bay Diskless NAS (RS217) features a Marvell Armada 385 88F6820 1.3GHz dual-core processor and a 512MB DDR3 system memory that enables it to deliver a peak 210.87MB/s reading speed and a maximum writing speed of 127.51MB/s in a Windows environment with RAID 1 level configuration.  It comes with two hot-swappable drive trays compatible with 3.5"/2.5" SATA HDDs and 2.5" SATA SSDs and allows transferring and copying files via its two USB 3.0 ports and single USB 2.0 port, or an eSATA external drive.
 

Efficient network file sharing

Synology's Disk Station Manager allows easy management of the RS217 diskless NAS using its easy-to-navigate browser-based interface.  Launch File Station to manage files and folders by designating owners and groups, assign permissions, mount virtual drives and remote folders, connect to public cloud services, and perform other functions.
