DrayTek VigorAP 918R Series is designed for outdoor applications, featuring IP67 certified enclosure and industrial-grade components. It can withstand harsh environments such as wind, rain, snow, etc. with extreme operating temperatures between -40°C and 70°C.
VigorAP 918R Series is IP67 certified water and dust-resistant. Along with its industrial-grade components, the VigorAP918R can withstand wind, rain, snow and tolerate extreme operating temperatures between -40°C and 70°C, making it suitable for extreme weather conditions.
Power to the VigorAP 918R Series AP is provided through the Ethernet cable from a PoE Ethernet switch or PoE injector providing flexible installation without the need for a nearby power source. In addition, the VigorAP 918RPD can also provide power to another PoE-PD, such as an IP camera.
To save energy, the VigorAP 918R Series is IEEE802.3az compliant reducing its energy consumption when data activity is low.
With high gain directional antennas, DrayTek VigorAP 918RPD Series boasts large coverage areas. This means that you can use the wireless bridging mode to link each access point to the main network, to improve on Wi-Fi speeds and coverage when it is difficult to run UTP cables from the main office to each access point due to the distances involved.
The VigorAP 918R series supports Wi-Fi Mesh technology, where each access point can be auto configured from a mesh root. This technology is ideal for covering large areas where it is difficult to run structured network cabling. When an access point fails, the Wi-Fi Mesh will automatically reconfigure with the remaining access points to maintain network connections.
VigorAP 918R allows up to 8 units to be wirelessly interconnected as a Mesh group.
VigorAP 918RPD is equipped with an internal directional patch antenna to increase communication distance and performance, and reduce interference from adjacent sources.
The internal directional patch antenna is placed paralleled to the front panel of VigorAP 918RPD. To gain the best signal strength, position the associated access point with a horizontal orientation within ±30 degrees and vertical orientation within ±7.5 degrees.
An all-in-one management platform for Vigor devices on the LAN side.
Connect a Vigor Switch or AP to the LAN side of the Vigor Router, and the router will auto-discover the device to allow it to be managed.
Basic settings may be done on the Vigor Router, and then provisioned to the managed Vigor Switches or APs.
The Vigor Router provides a centralized view of managed devices, so you can monitor and check the status of Vigor Switches or APs connected.
Perform factory resets, save/restore configuration backups, or trigger reboots remotely from the Vigor Router’s interface. There is no need to log in to each device’s management page.
When a Wi-Fi client moves out of its effective transmission range which is defined by the Basic Rate and/or Received Signal Strength threshold, the AP forces the Wi-Fi client to pick up a nearby access point with stronger signals thereby extending the range.
When the “Minimum RSSI with Adjacent AP” option is set, APs or routers on the same local subnet will exchange client information with each other and switch to the AP or router that has the strongest signal, ensuring that data rates can be as good as possible.
Instead of ineffective transmission with low basic rates or RSSI, the better links provide better user experience while saving the airtime.
Assisted Roaming is a built-in feature in all Vigor Access Points and a number of Wi-Fi routers; it saves the need for an ad-hoc wireless controller and is an ideal solution for simple network deployments.
