Cooler Master Coolers for Intel 10th Gen CPUs

18 June 2020

If you’ve been giving some thought to building or buying a new PC with a 10th Generation Intel processor, then you’ll need capable cooling to extract the most from it. Pairing a Cooler Master air or liquid cooler with a 10th Gen processor won’t just provide you with a cool and quiet running system, it will lead to better performance too. Quality cooling has a direct effect on Intel’s Turbo Boost technology, making cooling more important than ever. Cooler Master has a full range of cooling to suit your build, whether it’s a basic unobtrusive office PC or an all-out overclocked 10900K gaming powerhouse, all while looking damn good!

It’s worth bearing in mind that most 10th Gen processors don’t come with a cooler, and hence will require a separate purchase. An inadequate cooler can lead to thermal throttling, reducing performance and in some cases, could actually lead to CPU degradation. You might also be hit by high noise levels. Thankfully, Cooler Master has a top to bottom range of air and liquid coolers to suit your system, and at Mwave, we want to make sure your system performs to its full potential.

Intel’s 10th Generation processors come with three TDP classes. Intel processors with a K designation are overclockable, and if you intend to OC, you’ll want very good cooling to extract the most out of your CPU, especially with the higher TDP ratings that come with the K processors.

The Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240P Mirage liquid cooler is perfectly suited for the job. It will easily allow you to reach the maximum 5.3 GHz Thermal Velocity Boost level with the i9-10900K, or let you overclock the i7-10700K or i5-10600K with ease. The high-performance impeller can be seen spinning inside transparent pump cover. Paring it with a MasterBox ARGB case would make for a truly beautiful system. If you’re after something a bit more worldly for your K processor, then the MasterAir Maker 8 is what you’ll need. It comes with Silencio FP fans so you’ll get top quality cooling performance without having to resort to vacuum cleaner noise levels.

Even if you don’t intend to overclock, you’ll still need a quality cooler to allow a 10th Gen processor to reach its highest boost levels for the longest time. A MasterLiquid ML360R RGB cooler is a great match for a 10700K or the likes of the 10900 or 10900F. Though the latter models may only be 65W processors, they can run a lot higher than that, so it’s important not to skimp on the cooling.

It’s also important to match your cooler with the capabilities of your case. A case like the stunning SL600M Black Edition will accept a 360mm radiator whereas a smaller case such as the MasterBox MB320L will only accept a 240mm or 280mm radiator. An air cooler such as the MasterAir MA620M will fit in the majority of cases, with the exception of some slim or mini ITX cases. The MA620M is still a beast of a cooler though and with its black finish and RGB effects it will keep your 10th gen processor cool and look great while doing it.

Now that i5-10600 processors have double the thread count, it’s important to keep them cool too. You’ll still need a powerful cooler if you intend to overclock, but if you’re running something like a 10600K or even a 10700, then the MasterLiquid ML240R is a great choice. Its 240mm design means it will be compatible with a much large range of cases whilst giving up little in the way of performance or noise levels.

If you’ve got the space, then the MasterAir 620P is a good alternative. Its twin tower design and dual fans mean it’s highly capable and also a lot more affordable than a typical AIO cooler. As you move down the range to processors that don’t generate the heat of the higher end models, then in addition saving on power, you’ll save on cooling too. Cooler Master have many models to suit the likes of the i5-10500 or i5-10400. These are still 6-core/12-thread models that offer plenty of performance, yet with just 65W TDP’s that don’t require a high end cooler. A MasterAir MA610P still has dual RGB fans, but is more compact than the larger dual tower coolers, and it’s more affordable too.

Given that a 10th Gen i3 matches the performance of an i7 from just a couple of years ago, it’s important not to underestimate the cooling that an i3 requires. A cheap inadequate cooler is not up to the job. Cooler Master has many options to suit.

The venerable Hyper 212 series has been continually updated with more efficient materials and improved fans that keeps them among the most highly regarded affordable coolers on the market. Whether you like a splash of RGB, or something dark and discrete, the Hyper 212 models ensure cool and quiet computing even for 6 core i5’s. There are water cooling options too, such as the ML120L V2 RGB cooler. This 120mm cooler is widely compatible with the likes of the Cooler Master MasterCase H100 ARGB.

If you’re upgrading to 10th Gen with an existing case, then don’t forget that you might need to upgrade the case’s cooling to suit. Adding additional Cooler Master fans such as the MF120 addressable RGB fan will improve case airflow, helping to reduce CPU temperatures along with those of the graphics card and the motherboards’ VRM, which can get quite hot with a 10th Gen processor. And of course you can customize them to suit the rest of your build. That’s the beauty of RGB. It’s your choice!

Cooler Master has a full set of cooling products to help you get the best out of your 10th Gen build. Great performance to go along with great looks, lower temperatures and lower noise levels. All strong reasons to add Cooler Master products to your system.
