Computex 2018 (Taipei) is underway with brands such as Intel, Thermaltake, EVGA, EKWB and many more announcing new products and services.
Intel has announced several new variants of CPUs for both the mainstream and HEDT family. Intel also launched an M.2 form-factor variant of its recently released Optane 905P SSD.
Intel Core i7-8086K Limited Edition – CPU
Intel announced the Core i7-8086K Limited Edition CPU to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Intel’s 8086 x86 microprocessor. The first 8086 x86 microprocessor was used in the original IBM PC 40 years ago. The launch of the Intel i7-8086K also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Intel’s founding in 1968.

Intel unveils an upcoming 28-core HEDT CPU – High-end CPU
To cater for extreme users, Intel unveiled an upcoming high-end CPU scheduled for launch late this year. The new HEDT CPU will have 28-cores (56-threads). More details will be known closer to the release date.
Intel Optane 905P – SSD
To complement the launch of the Optane 905P SSD in early-May, Intel unveiled the consumer-friendly M.2-22110 form-factor variant of the SSD. It features the latest generation 3D X-point memory enabling high-speed transfer and access speeds.
Thermaltake announced several new products including power supplies (PSUs), PC cases, RGB software suites and much more. Most notably, Thermaltake unveiled a successor to the renowned Level 10 - the Level 20 PC case.

Thermaltake unveiled their long-awaited successor to the popular Level 10 – the Level 20. The Level 20 features a multi-chamber design (inspired from the original Level 10), tempered-glass side-panels, 11 drive bays, USB 3.1 Type-C and much more. To target a lower price, Thermaltake also unveiled their Level 20 GT RGB which carries over styling cues from the Level 20. Level 20 XT and VT are horizontally oriented ‘cube-style’ cases with the VT supporting a maximum of a micro-ATX motherboard.

Thermaltake PSUs – PSUs
Thermaltake announced new PSUs at Computex 2018 – the Toughpower Grand RGB Gold Series and Toughpower GX1 Gold Series. The Toughpower Grand RGB Gold will launch in the coming months and is compatible with Thermaltake’s new RGB Plus software (developed in partnership with Razer). Toughpower GX1 Gold Series PSUs will be immediately available.

EVGA has announced several new products ranging from B360 & X299 motherboards to PSUs and more. EVGA also showed off design concepts for possible future PSUs.
EVGA Super G7 1000 – PSU (prototype)
EVGA showed off their Super G7 1000 PSU which features an ultra-short length of 125mm and is cooled using a 120mm fan. PSUs that are 125mm in length typically supply between 400-600W – so this is quite an achievement. EVGA plans to launch the PSU sometime in September 2018.
EKWB (EK Water Blocks) showed off several water cooling products at Computex 2018. Amongst other products, EKWB also unveiled their wooden water block design concepts.
