Computex 2018 (Taipei) is underway with brands such as Asus, Corsair, Aorus and many more announcing new products and showing off design concepts.



Asus has announced a plethora of new hardware components and peripherals with many joining the Republic of Gamers (ROG) and TUF product lines. The new products cover computer PC components, PC cases, peripherals and more.



ROG Ryujin & Ryuo - AIO CPU Liquid Coolers

The flagship ROG Ryujin is available with either 240mm or 360mm radiators and is bundled with Noctua’s NF-F12 iPPC-2000PWM industrial fans which offer a blend of high performance and low noise. A 60mm fan is integrated within the CPU block to improve airflow around the CPU socket. ROG Ryujin is also equipped with the LiveDash 1.77-inch OLED display which can show real-time system stats as well as images and GIFs. Asus ROG Ryuo offers most of the features from the ROG Ryujin but with a more classic design and lower price. ROG Ryuo is available with either 120mm or 240mm radiators and utilize our in-house developed fans.

ROG Thor 1200W Platinum PSU – Power Supply

Asus’ new 80 Plus Platinum certified PSU based on renowned Seasonic hardware. An 850W variant will be available later this year.


ROG Strix gaming Chassis – PC Case       

Notable features include; carry handles, addressable RGB LED lighting, a vertical GPU mount, and a front-panel USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port.

ROG Delta – Headset

Features a USB-C connection for improved compatibility with devices such as smartphones that may not include 3.5mm headphone jacks.


ROG Balteus Qi – Gaming Mouse Pad

Notable features include RGB lighting (Asus Aura Sync compatible), Qi wireless charging and a USB 2.0 pass-through port. ROG Balteus will also be available without Qi wireless charging for a reduced price.

Gladius II is an evolution of the previous Gladius gaming mouse and features both RF and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

Asus CG32UQ 31.5", VG49V 49", PA34V 34" – Monitors

CG32UQ monitor features a 3840 x 2160 (4K) resolution in a large 31.5" size. It also features Halo Sync ambient lighting along with support for Adaptive-Sync and HDR10. VG49V monitor features a super-ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio with a 1800R curve and 144hz refresh rate. The monitor uses a 49" VA panel and features a 3840 x 1080 resolution. ProArt PA34V features a 34" 21:9 aspect ratio panel with a 3440 x 1440 resolution and 100hz refresh rate.


Asus RT-AX88U, AX6100 WiFi System, ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 – Routers

ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 features the new 802.11ax WiFi as well as supporting tri-band. Its peak aggregate throughput reaches nearly 11,000Mbps; with up to 1148Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 4804Mbps on each of the two 5GHz bands. AX6100 WiFi System supports AiMesh allowing the creation of a mesh network for easy wireless networking. RT-AX88U supports the new 802.11ax protocol with a dual band design. It features a total throughput of 6000Mbps; with up to 1148Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 4804Mbps on the 5GHz band.

ROG Strix (GL504) Hero II & Scar II – Gaming Laptops

Features narrower bezels and a smaller footprint than its GL503 predecessor.  Hero II is equipped with a GTX 1060 while the Scar II is equipped with a GTX 1070 along with a beefier cooling system. Both gaming laptops have Intel 8th Gen six-core CPUs and will be available with high-refresh-rate 144hz displays.

ROG Phone – Smartphone

A new 6-inch smartphone designed with mobile gaming in mind. It features a binned Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 GPU along with a vapour-chamber cooling system. ROG Phone also features an AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.  




Corsair has announced several products including PC cases, power supplies and RAM. They have also announced their new iCUE software which unifies dynamic lighting control seamlessly between Corsair hardware and peripherals. Their new products include:


Corsair Crystal Series 280X RGB Case & Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB SE – PC Cases

Designed as a successor to the popular Air 240 chassis with a dual-chamber chassis with micro-ATX (mATX) motherboard support. It will be available in black or white and a non-RGB variant will also be available for a lower price. A refresh of the popular 500D adding a tempered glass front panel along with 3 LL120 RGB fans. The Commander PRO controller is also bundled for easy customisability.

Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Series DDR4 – RAM

Vengeance RGB PRO features an aluminium heatspreader which is available in black or white. It also features a customisable RGB strip on top of each stick (utilising Corsair’s new iCUE software).

Corsair SF Series 80 Plus Platinum PSUs & Corsair Vengeance Series 80 Plus Silver PSUs – Power Supply

A new updated version of the already available SF600 SFX PSU which now features 80-Plus Platinum certification and individually sleeved cables. The new SF600 will also be bundled with an SFX-to-ATX bracket allowing out-of-the-box installation into a standard ATX PSU space. The new Vengeance Series is a more efficient updated version of the already available Vengeance 80 Plus Bronze. Also features a semi-modular design, Zero RPM fan mode and a 5-year warranty.

AORUS (Gigabyte)

Gigabyte’s Aorus brand announced several new products including power supplies and RAM.



Aorus RGB RAM features 2 8GB sticks with RGB lighting.  The kit distinguishes itself from the competition by including two additional “Exclusive demo modules” which are essentially RGB dummy modules that can be used alongside the two RAM modules. Gigabyte claim this is to ensure users get a 4 DIMM look without needing to pay for 4 DIMMs.
